GAS CITY — The excitement from Mississinewa’s boys basketball sectional championship in March – the program’s first in 67 years – created a good problem for Indians’ coach James Reed as he enters the fourth season leading his high school alma mater.

“Last year we did not have to make cuts. The guys we had were exactly the guys we needed,” Reed said. “This year we had over 50 guys come out. I don’t really like to keep more than 28 and were at 30 right now. We had to make 20-plus cuts and we had to make half of those cuts not knowing which football players were going to come out.”
