IWU Volleyball Head Coach Candice Moats talks to her team on the sideline at the NAIA National Tournament last week. The team advanced to the Sweet Sixteen after a longer-than-usual season.

It’s not often that a team has to peak twice within one season, but that’s exactly what the Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team tried to do this year before eventually falling in the Sweet Sixteen at nationals.

After beating Marian University 3-0 in the Crossroads League conference final on Nov. 14, Head Coach Candace Moats said her team was “just on fire.” The team qualified for the NAIA tournament, which is typically held in December, only to find itself waiting to take the stage at nationals for its first game on April 27.
