The Democratic Party took no time at all to return to its “normal” ways of governance, stuffing bills with poison pills that will undoubtedly end in political deadlock. Instead of making significant improvements to human rights and campaign finance, U.S. citizens will be left with no change, no improvement and mounting frustration.

Tacking on long-shot proposals to sound policy is something citizens on both sides of the aisle have come to expect, and loathe. Democratic lawmakers love to choose a widely-supported topic and then tack on a bunch of controversial items deep within the lengthy bills in hopes no one notices.
