Volunteers assist MGH vaccination efforts

A volunteer force is bolstering Marion General Hospital’s (MGH) COVID-19 vaccine clinic efforts as the hospital continues to administer the vaccine to health care workers, first responders and Hoosiers 80 and older.

MGH public information officer Kate Lyons said the hospital’s vaccine clinic continues to operate 12 hours a day, Monday through Friday, with four vaccinators and four registrars working during every 4-hour shift. While it varies from day to day, Lyons said many if not most shifts are staffed with at least one volunteer health care worker along with hospital employees.
