Alysa Yancey, precision rifler

Alysa Yancey takes aim at a target while practicing with her air rifle at Marion High School this summer while school is on break. The high school junior shows up to school early as often as she can to continue to hone her skill, which has taken her to the Junior Olympics and numerous national competitions.

A $100 pawn shop purchase changed Alysa Yancey’s life.

The high school junior didn’t know at the time, but her brother’s new pump-action air rifle that she shot in the backyard as the sun was setting a few years ago would act as a catalyst to her success later in life – both on and off the shooting range.
