Deputy retires after 27 years

The Grant County Sheriff’s Department held its monthly Merit Board meeting on Thursday. Among the topics discussed were the departmental monthly and yearly activity reports. Included in the reports are vehicle crashes, arrests, calls for services, civil processes served, transports as well as jail activity. Deputy Steve Clouse was honored as he retired after 27 years at the department.  Also discussed was the need for jail staff and deputy applicants.

Housing authority closed Monday

Marion Housing authority will be closed Monday due to the holiday.

Solid waste change due to holiday

Due to the MLK holiday, Solid Waste Pick-up services for the City of Marion will run one day behind for Jan. 15 through Jan. 18

4-H Enrollment open

Grief Share classes begin Jan. 15

New Hope Baptist Church will be starting Grief Share classes for all those dealing with a recent loss. Classes will begin Jan. 15 at New Hope Baptist Church from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  There will be a $25 fee to cover the cost of the book.  For more information contact Rachel Rhoadarmer 970-324-0305.
