Marion Community Schools (MCS) will be expanding its Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programming in its middle grades thanks to a grant from the Indiana Department of Education.

Stephanie Lockwood, principal of Justice Intermediate School and McCulloch Junior High School, said MCS was awarded a $75,000 STEM Acceleration Grant, the maximum award for a school district of MCS’s size. The grant will allow the district to continue to push toward STEM education at all grade levels, she said.
