Roscoe J. Rousey March 21, 1948 - April 8, 2019

Roscoe J. Rousey, 71, Summitville, passed away in his residence on Monday, April 8, 2019, following an extended illness.

He was born on March 21, 1948, in Seymour to Roscoe and Mildred (Jordan) Rousey. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged in 1974. Roscoe worked in construction and as a heavy equipment operator, most recently for Wilhelm Construction of Indianapolis. He was member of the Fairmount American Legion. Roscoe was a biker and an avid fan of Harley Davidson.

Survivors include two brothers, George Bennett, New Castle, Dale (Pat) Bennett, Summitville; sister, Wanda Cox, Anderson; four nieces, two nephews, several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; three step-children, Tammy Whiteman Fairmount, Terry (Michelle) Whiteman in Florida, James (Melissa) Whiteman Alexandria; several step-grandchildren; and so many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vicki Rousey in 2011, a brother-in-law Harold Cox.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Navy and the Elwood VFW Honors Team.
