Arbor Trace upcoming events

High school golf matches in April: 16 - Oak Hill vs Southwood/Wabash 4:30 p.m., 17 - Oak Hill Jr. High vs. Eastbrook 5 p.m., 18 - Oak Hill vs. Madison-Grant 4:30 p.m., 19 - Eastbrook Jr. High vs. Wabash 5 p.m., 20 -  Eastbrook Invitational 8 a.m. shotgun.

April 15 - The Monday night Grave’s League will be having a call out meeting at 4 p.m. League to begin May 13 and is a two person scramble (with handicap). League is open to anyone, Seniors & Women’s play from the forward tees.April 23 - The Tuesday Morning GM League will be having its call out meeting at 7:30 a.m.. League starts April 30.May 2 - Raymond James Senior League begins. 8 a.m. shotgun start. Marion softball leagues forming

The Marion Parks and Recreation Department is now registering teams for men’s D and co-ed slow pitch softball leagues to be played in Matter Park this summer.

Players must be at least 16-years old to be eligible for the leagues.

Cost to register a team is $425 and can be done weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Marion Parks and Recreation office, 301 S. Branson Street. Deadline to register in 4 p.m. on Friday, May 3. A complete roster (with players’ signatures), sponsor fees, player fees and forfeit fees ($50) as well as the Zero Tolerance form must be turned in at the time of registration. Forfeit fees will be refunded if a team has no forfeits during the season.

A complete roster includes: players’ names, addresses and home phone numbers. Incomplete rosters will not be accepted and player may play on two teams in the same league. Maximum roster size is 20 players.

Games will be played Monday through Thursday (6, 7, 8 and 9 p.m.) beginning on May 13 for the men’s league and May 16 for co-ed league. Teams will play a 10-game regular-season schedule followed by a double-elimination tournament. Rain outs will will be made up the first available Friday following the regularly scheduled game.

Diamonds my be reserved for one-hour practices up to five days in advance by calling the Marion Parks and Recreation Deptartment (662-9931). Only one weekday and one weekend reservation is allowed per week.

Teams may drop out of the league and receive a refund (minus a $25 processing fee) on or before May 10. No refunds will be issued after May 10.

IWU basketball summer camps

Indiana Wesleyan University men’s basketball will offer four camps this summer and includes options for campers ranging from kindergarten thru 12th grade.

The first two camps of the summer are set for June 3-6. The Mini Fun and Skills Camp is for campers that are kindergarten thru second grade as of Fall 2019. The Basketball Academy runs on the concurrent dates and is for third thru ninth grade campers.

The Advanced Shooting Camp takes place July 15-17 for grades 4-12 and the Prospect Camp rounds out the summer camp schedule on August 24 for grades 9-12.

Hoosiers Reunion All-Star Classic tickets

Tickets for the Hoosiers Reunion All-Star Classic on April 13 at noon in the fabled Hoosier Gym in Knightstown are now available for purchase.

Oak Hill senior Adrianna Trexler will be one of the 26 girls playing in the contest that features 18 Division I players and 11 girls on this summer’s Indiana Senior All-Star team. Golden Eagles’ coach Todd Law and Warren Central’s Stacy Mitchell are coaches for the two teams.

Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased by calling 765-345-2100. Go to www.thehoosiergym.com to see the rosters of players participating.

Taylor football prospect camp 

The Taylor University football program has opened registration for its June 7, June 28 and July 12 prospect camps.

The camps cost $40 per individual and are open to any high school student-athlete set to graduate in the years 2020, 2021 or 2022. Individuals will participate in football agility and position-specific drills under the direct supervision of the Taylor football coaching staff.

The times for these camps are 6 to 8 p.m. and each camp will be held on Taylor’s practice field.
