Happenings at MPL

Library Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Museum closes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5:30 p.m. The Library and Museum are now open on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. The Library and Museum is open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Library and Museum will be open to the public from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Come visit the museum: On the main floor, there is a case of Barbie dolls and a case with books by Kin Hubbard who published several books about “Abe Martin” that was a comic strip published from 1904-1930 in the Indianapolis News. The theme of most of the strips was Brown County, Indiana. There are also cases in the lobby with a collection of banks, and also a case with a space shuttle launch center with figures of the astronauts.

Let’s Knit & Crochet. Thursdays at 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Forrest Room on the Museum. Let’s Knit & Crochet is open to adults. All skill levels are welcome. The fee for beginners is $15 to cover the cost of materials for the first project. Beginners must register at Reference Services the Monday before starting. Registration is not necessary for others.

Spring Break Creation Station. Monday, March 25, and Friday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Children’s/Youth Services. Come and create a Valentine’s Day craft.

Teen Game Day. Tuesday, March 26 at 2:30 p.m. Teen Room. For teens in grades 7 – 12. Join us for an afternoon of gaming (video and board), as well as free drinks and snacks. Bring one of your own games or play one of ours! Bring friends or make new ones.

Spring Break Movie. Thursday, March 28 at 2 p.m. Meeting Room B. Free pop & popcorn. Movie is rated PG.

Pokemon Club. Saturday, March 30 at 3 p.m. Children’s Activity Room. You want to be the very best? Join the club to play or learn how. For Pokemon trainers in grades 2 - 6. Bring your own deck or use one of ours.

The Connector Display Case features the DAR. The Reference Art Display on the second floor features art from Carey Services. March is Disability Awareness Month.
