Wolff takes plea

Douglas Wolff, a local horse owner charged with animal cruelty, intimidation and obstruction of justice, agreed to a plea deal and was sentenced in Grant County Superior Court II. The Chronicle-Tribune will be following up on this story with more details to come this week. Wolff’s jury trial had been set to begin on April 2, 2019.

Drunk driver was headed to OWI court date

A Westfield man whose blood alcohol content tested at .396 percent told Grant County Sheriff’s Department deputies that he was on his way to a court date for an operating while intoxicated charge when his vehicle slid off the road Monday. Deputies found the man, Samuel Pickard, 49, outside his vehicle near Ind. 37 and 650 South at 12:39 p.m. and took him to Marion General Hospital before booking him into the Grant County Jail.

Taylor student wins second at festival

Taylor University student Landry Long won second place in the music video category at the 2019 Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Art this month, for his video titled “Coastline.” The original article discussing the national recognition awarded to TU staff and students ran in the C-T on March 10.
