Marion pep session, fan bus

Marion will hold a pep session for its regional-bound girls basketball team and wrestlers heading to semistate today at 3:30 p.m. in Bill Green Athletic Arena. The public is invited to attend. 

There will also be a Marion High School Student Fan Bus going to the Columbia City Regional on Saturday. The bus will leave MHS at 9:30 a.m. and will come back following the 12:00 noon game between the Giants and West Noble.

If Marion wins the early game, the bus will then leave the high school at 6:30 p.m. for the championship game at 8 p.m. 

Marion students must purchase a regional ticket at the MHS Athletic office to go on the bus. Tickets are on sale noon today and cost $10. Transportation on the student fan bus is free.

Marion girls regional tickets

Marion High school will have pre-sale tickets for the Columbia City Regional in the MHS Athletic Office from 9 a.m. to noon today.

Tickets are $10 each and are good for both sessions on Saturday.

Marion meets West Noble at noon in the second semifinal. New Castle plays Angola at 10 a.m. with the winners meeting at 8 p.m. in the championship.

Tickets will be available at the game for $7 per session.

Oak Hill girls regional tickets

Tickets for the Eastern Girls Basketball Regional on Saturday will be sold in the Oak Hill High School office from 8 a.m. to noon today.

Tickets are $10 for all sessions. Single session tickets will be available at the door for $7 a session.

Monroe Central will play Tipton at 10 a.m. Oak Hill and Lafayette Central Catholic will play at noon. The championship game is at 8 p.m.

Marion Babe Ruth baseball registration

Marion Babe Ruth Baseball will be holding registrations on Feb. 13, Feb. 21 and Feb. 28 from  5 p.m. to  8 p.m. inside Marion High School gate No. 14 (next to baseball field).

All players must come and fill out a registration form even if they played last year. Cost is $75 per player with $60 for each additional sibling. Raffle tickets are also available to sell to help offset the cost.

Leagues being formed for play at Lincoln Field are: Cal Ripken Coaches Pitch, Cal Ripken 9-10 year old, Cal Ripken 11-12 year old, Babe Ruth 13-15 year old as well as Girls Fastpitch Softball, Babe Ruth 9-12 year old and Babe Ruth 13-15 year old.

Marion Babe Ruth Baseball is also looking for coaches and umpires.

PAL Club baseball/softball signups

The Marion PAL Club currently is taking applications for its upcoming baseball/softball/tee-ball leagues through March 25.

Note that the cost is $80 and the leagues are for boys ages four through nine and girls ages four through 14.

Applicants must submit their name, phone number, birth date and shirt size, and may be asked to participate in a ticket raffle fundraiser.

Oak Hill chicken noodle dinner 

The Oak Hill football program will host a chicken and noodle dinner in the OHHS cafeteria on Friday, Feb. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the senior night and boys basketball game against Elwood.

Advanced tickets can be purchased for $6 per adult or $3 for children. At the door tickets will cost $7 per adult and $4 for children.
