Caitlin Breanne Ritenour March 9, 1983 - Jan. 8, 2019

Caitlin Breanne Ritenour, age 35 of Naperville, Illinois, formerly of Winchester, Virginia, and Purdue University, West Lafayette, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at Edward Hospital of Naperville, Illinois, after a courageous 20-month battle with breast cancer.

She was born March 9, 1983, in Fairfax, Virginia, to her loving parents, the Rev. Glenn and Debra Grant of Grand Blanc, Michigan.

Beloved wife of Peter A. Ritenour, wedded on June 25, 2011. Adored mother of Jacob A. Ritenour. Loving sister of Jessica (Christopher) Martin, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Robert Grant of Cutler, Ohio; Isaac Grant of Spokane, Washington; and Scott (Jessica) Grant of Waterford, Michigan. Dear aunt of Michael, Jonathan and Andrew Martin. Cherished granddaughter of Edward and Ruth Sattler of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, and the late Virginia and Leonard Grant. Loving daughter-in-law of Brian and Joy Ritenour of Plymouth, and granddaughter-in-law of Lymon B. “Pete” and the late Dea Ruth Hall of Marion, and the late Andrew and Treva Ritenour. Dearest sister-in-law of Matthew (Lindsey) Ritenour of Korborn, Germany.

Caitlin was a 2001 graduate of John Handley High School, Winchester, Virginia, and a 2005 graduate of Purdue University, receiving her B.S. degree in Aviation Technology. She was an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA since 2006. She was also a certificated flight instructor and pilot. Caitlin enjoyed horseback riding, creative cooking, writing, playing cello and violin, flying and, most of all, playing with her son.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to a future education fund for Jacob Ritenour or the American Cancer Society, 1801 Meyers Rd., #100, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, 60181.

Memorial visitation: Saturday, Jan. 12, 1 – 4 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, 1105 Catalpa Lane, Naperville, Illinois, 60540. Additional visitation: Sunday, Jan. 13, 1 - 3 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian church with a celebration of life service to follow at 3 p.m. Interment is private.
