Monty L. Quick Oct. 25, 1942 - Jan. 5, 2019

Monty L. Quick, 76, of Van Buren passed away at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis.

He was born on Sunday, Oct. 25, 1942, in Blackfork, Ohio. He married Judy Quick on Saturday, March 29, 1986, in Panama, Oklahoma. Monty attended Oak Hill High School and attended Ivy Tech Community College and Ohio State University. Monty served in the United States Army as a combat engineer. He was a supervisor of Fisher Body in Marion, was in the swimming pool business, and was a well digger. Monty volunteered at St. Martins in Marion and provided food to the needy and to friends in the community.

Loving survivors include his wife, Judy (Bergman) Quick, Van Buren; son Robert (Barbara) Quick, Marion; daughter Monica (Bobby Stevens) Quick, Van Buren; daughter Diane (Karl) Trottnow, North Ridgeville, Ohio; sister Juanita Garrett, Lakeland, Florida; brother John Quick, Covnneauville, Pennsylvania; brother Clyde Quick, Tennessee; brother Russell Quick, Briston, Tennessee; sister Sharon Jacobs, Cocoa, Florida; sister Shirley Davis, Rockledge, Florida; sister Erma Quick, St. Cloud, Florida; and sister Naomi Marshall, Rockledge, Florida; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Clyde Calvin Quick, mother Mary (Brewer) Quick, brother Edward Quick, and brother Jackie Quick.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Van Buren, on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, from 2 – 5 p.m.

A service to celebrate his life will be at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Van Buren, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, with the Pastor Jeremy Cowin officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army.

Arrangements are being handled by Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home in Van Buren.
