Commission promises 5th Street funds

The Marion Redevelopment Commission met Wednesday and voted to help the Fifth Street Commons project reach its end-of-the-week fundraising goal. Thriving Families, Thriving Grant County has been working to raise $27,000 for a matching grant to fund phase two of the Commons project to turn a downtown parking lot into a gathering space. The deadline for the fundraiser is Sept. 14. The commission voted to make up the difference needed, currently less than $2,000, so the fundraiser can meet its goal and receive matching funds.
