Darnell Carter

Darnell Carter, 48, of Marion, passed away suddenly in his home on July 3. He was born in Marion to Claudell and Maxine (Coleman) Carter. He was baptized at a young age at Union Chapel Baptist Church.

Darnell (DC) was a 1988 graduate of Marion High School. He was employed as a lift driver at Walmart Distribution Center.

He was well known, liked and loved by many. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and watching sports. Darnell was a huge New England Patriots fan.

He is survived by his father Claudell Carter, one daughter: Kyara Jhane’ Carter, one grandson: Tre’Mar Shad Carter of Marion, one son: Micco Jarnell Davis (Candies), two granddaughters: Caniah Davis, and Mila Davis of Norfolk, Virginia. Three sisters: Janace Delore Carter of Jackson, MS, Darline Carter, and Claudia Carter both of Marion. Two aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Darnell was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine (Coleman) Carter, sister, DeWanda Carter, and brother, Ulysses (Cedar) Carter.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, July 14 at Greater Second Baptist Church, 705 W 26th St., Marion.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Estates of Serenity, 2225 S Lincoln Blvd., Marion.
