Taylor softball prospect camp

The Taylor University softball program will host a Prospect Camp at Gudakunst Field on August 25, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The camp is open to high school students ages 14 through 18.

Cost for the one-day camp is $65 per individual participant and that cost includes lunch and a shirt for each camper. The camp will focus on skill development for hitting and fielding, and offer testing drills for each position plus a full scrimmage.

Oak Hill youth football camp

The Oak Hill High School football program will be conducting its youth football camp from July 16-19 at the high school.

The camp is for students entering second through eighth grades and will run from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Cost is $35 and includes a camp t-shirt.

Registration forms can be picked up at the high school office or contact Coach Bud Ozmun at budoz@ohusc.k12.in.us for information.

Eagles football team to host blood drive

The Oak Hill High School football team is partnering with the Indianapolis Colts to sponsor a blood drive at Oak Hill High School from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Schedule an appointment at donorpoint.org code 121202, or just drop in.

GCTA Tennis Camp

The Grant County Community Tennis Association will sponsor its 16th tennis camp July 16-20 at Matter Park.

The first through fourth-grade session is from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with a registration fee of $30. A fifth- through eighth-grade session will run from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. with a fee of $50. Additional children from the same family are half price.

Registration deadline Wednesday.

Camp instructors are Doug Porter, Deb Hendricks and local high school players. For an application, contact Porter at 618-4216.

IWU volleyball camp

The Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball program is accepting applications for its upcoming youth summer camps.

Each session will provide skills and drills for athletes to work on individual and team skills.

A Youth Camp (grades 2-6) and the General Skills Camp (grades 7-10) will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday. Cost of each camp is $75.

IWU will host a high school prospect camp from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 16. Cost is $100.

Indiana Wesleyan also hosts a high school bash July 21 for teams to compete in a tournament format before the fall sports season begins.

Camps will be conducted in the Recreation and Wellness Center on the IWU campus.

Marion PAL Soccer

The Marion PAL Club is taking applications for its upcoming outdoor soccer leagues for kids pre-school through eighth grade.

Dealine to register is July 25 and cost is $70 per player.

Call the PAL Club at 668-4422 to register with the following information: name, phone number, grade entering, shirt size and if the player played last year.

A fundraiser selling Otis Spunkmeyer cookies will also be held to help offset the league fee.

Madison-Grant tennis tourney

The Madison-Grant Singles & Doubles Tennis Tournament is July 21 on the tennis courts at Madison-Grant High School.

Several divisions available for competition, including men’s and women’s singles, men’s, women’s and mixed doubles. Scoring will be one eight-game pro set.

Entry fee is $12 for one division and $20 if playing in two divisions. Players are limited to two divisions.

Deadline to register is 6 p.m. July 18.

IWU youth tennis camp

Indiana Wesleyan’s men’s and women’s tennis programs will host its annual youth camp July 23-27 at the Jack Sutter Tennis Center on the IWU campus.

The first through sixth grade session is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and seventh through 12th grade will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

In each session, players will be grouped according to experience and background.

Cost of the camp is $50 and campers will receive a t-shirt and instruction from IWU coaches Eddy Shigley, Rachel Bottorff along with current Wildcat players.

Buroker Memorial Golf Scramble

Maple Run Friend’s Church is hosting it’s annual Bob Buroker Memorial Golf Scramble For Missions on August 4 at Arbor Trace Golf Club.

Cost is $50 per person and includes 18 holes with cart, door prizes and a pork chop luncheon.

Lunch begins at noon with a putting contest to follow.

A shotgun start will take place a 1:45 p.m.

Prizes for longest putt and drive along with closest to the pin will be awarded.

Every players receives a door prize.
