James William 'Bill' Lewis April 27, 1931 - July 5, 2018

James William "Bill" Lewis, 87, of Marion, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior with his family at his side on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion.

Bill was an accomplished artist who loved family and people, enjoyed laughing and theatrical plays and dramas. He enjoyed music and going fishing at Hill Lake Resort, Claypool, where he and Roma had maintained a cottage for over 50 years. He was a member First Church of God, Marion and helped build the current church building. Bill retired in 1990 after 37 years with Dana Corporation, Marion.

Bill was born April 27, 1931, in Marion, to Vern James and Garnet (Drake) Lewis and graduated from Marion High School Class of 1950. On June 29, 1952, he married Roma N. Baird at the First Church of God on Boots Street in Marion and they celebrated 66 years of marriage just a few days ago.

Bill is survived by his wife Roma, daughter Tina Lewis, Marion. Sons: Kevin James (Laura) Lewis, Redlands, California and Stephen M. Lewis, Claypool. Sister: Shirley Lostutter, Marion, Patricia Stanley, Anderson, and Brother: Paul (Anita) Lewis, Marion. Brothers-in-law: Jerry (Jackie) Hoss, Marion, Keith (Debbie) Hoss, Stewart, Florida. Sister-in-law: Pennie (Ed) Ables, Coldwater, Ohio.

Grandchildren: Nathan Lewis, Redlands, California, Blake (Kay Hamlet) Lewis, Walla Walla, Washington, Tory (Kalon) Shearer, Winona Lake, Mikila (Dan) Cook, Fort Wayne.

Great-grandchildren: Zoey Shearer, Brookely Shearer, Rylan James Shearer, Raely May Shearer, Bailey Brown and Nolan Cook.

He is also survived by many loving and devoted Nieces and Nephews and his cherished dog Napoleon.

Bill was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers-in-law Robert Stanley and Fred Lostutter and Sisters-in-law Helen (Herbert) Smith, and Maxine (Robert) Eastes.

A celebration of life service for Bill will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the First Church of God 450 W. 50th St., Marion, with Pastors Jonathon Secrest and Bill Fulda officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to College Park Chapel, Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, IN 46953.
