Car fire spreads to home

An unknown subject set fire to a car at 3607 1/2 S. Selby St. on Monday morning around 3 a.m. The car was parked outside, and Marion Fire Department arrived on scene to douse the flames around 3:45 a.m. According to Assistant Fire Chief Jason Hale, the flames spread to the exterior of the home and to the roof and attic. MFD took control of the flames and left the scene at 6:20 a.m. Hale said no interior damage was done, but due to the damage in the roof and attic, the individuals in the duplex-style home will likely be displaced.
