Teenage boy shot in leg

A juvenile victim claims a man walked into his garage Thursday and shot him in the leg before leaving without saying a word.

Marion Police Department Cpt. Stephen Dorsey said the 16-year-old unidentified victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound below his left knee around 4:16 p.m. on Oct. 3.

The incident occured on the 400 block of South Park Avenue, according to police reports.

Dorsey said the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading east down an alleyway.

Police say the suspect was described as a black man with a stocky build, weighing approximately 200 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie, according to police reports.

The victim was transported to Marion General Hospital after receiving first aid.

The investigation is still under investigation.
