Mary Glee Fisher Nov. 27, 1924 - Sept. 8, 2019

Mary Glee Fisher, 94, Sweetser, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:05 am on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion. She was born in Amboy on Thursday, November 27, 1924, to the late Jess and Emma (Myers) Bowland. She married Ancil S. Fisher on November 21, 1942, and he preceded her in death.

Mary was a graduate of Converse High School and worked in Production at RCA, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Roseburg Church of God and loved going to her church.

She enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles, reading, shopping, traveling, gardening, watching birds, and going to their lake cottage at Palestine Lake. There were also numerous times over the years that she worked alongside her husband doing carpentry work. Family was a priority to Mary. She dearly loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and spending time with them whenever possible.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Judy Hamilton of Sweetser; four grandchildren, Keith (Julie) Hamilton of Lafayette, Sheri (Charles) Pemberton of Nineveh; Brian (Shellee) Hamilton of Kokomo, and Robert “Bobby” (Susan) Hamilton of Amboy; five great-grandsons, Aaron (Lindsey) Hamilton of Lafayette, Eric (Gabby) Hamilton of Lafayette, Ryan Hamilton, Josh Woodcock of Elwood, and Jordan (Kristie) Hamilton of Sweetser; five great-granddaughters, Courtney Woodcock of Greenfield, Brooke (Max) Smith of Tipton, Brandi (Caleb) Tackett of Kokomo, Alexa (Derrick) Randall of Indianapolis, and Alyvia Hamilton of Amboy; four sisters, Waneta (Danny) Levensky of Amboy, Alice Hudson of Marion, Betty Hodson of Kokomo, and Virginia Rohrer of Marion; and four brothers, Russell Bowland of Greentown, James (Sharon) Bowland of Converse, Eugene (Mary) Bowland of Amboy, and Raymond (Thelma) Bowland.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Fisher; son-in-law, Melvin Hamilton; five sisters, Dorothy Rose, Carol Bowland, Anna Roseberry, Violet Rowe, and Patsy Bennett; and brothers, Wayne Bowland and Woodrow Bowland.

The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Mary’s life will begin at noon with Pastor Bill Fulda officiating. Burial will take place at Park Lawn Cemetery.
