James A. Robinson Jun. 29, 1929 - Sept. 6, 2019

James A. Robinson, 90, Upland, passed away at 1:50 pm on Friday, September 6, 2019, at University Nursing Center in Upland. He was born in Elkmont, Alabama, on Saturday, June 29, 1929, to the late Hezzie and Yora (Reese) Robinson. On August 23, 1947, he married Gladys L. Johnson, who preceded him in death.

James worked at Foster-Forbes and retired in 1984 after 33 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his vegetable garden, and especially country music dancing. His favorite dance was the “Texas Two Step”. Most of all, James loved his kids and his dogs.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kathy J. Davis of Marion and Nancy Enyeart of Marion; son, Richard A. (Mirinda) Robinson of AR; daughter-in-law, Jo-Marie Robinson of Marion; two sisters, Dean Brunson of Athens, AL, and Jean (Sonny) Wilson of Marion; brother, Alfred (Helen) Robinson of Athens, AL; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, James L. Robinson; sons-in-law, John Davis and Sam Enyeart; brothers-in-law, Wilber Brunson and Andrew Johnson; sister, Cine Johnson; and two brothers, John and Robert Robinson.

The family will receive visitors from 4 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

A funeral service to celebrate James’ life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at the funeral home. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
