Jimmy Hurd May 2, 1946 - Sept. 2, 2019

Jimmy Hurd, 73 of Pigeon Forge, went home to be with his Heavenly Father Sept. 2, 2019.

Jimmy was born in Marion, Indiana and retired and moved to Tennessee in 2013. He was a devout Christian who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of 2nd Baptist Church in Sevierville, Tennessee. He began working for SCM Allied Paper in 1966 and worked for 28.5 years until the factory shut down in 1995. He then began working for Indiana Wesleyan University until he retired in 2008. He had a giving heart and it showed through with his wood work that he would give out to others as gifts. He loved the outdoors, watching nature, and old westerns, but even more then that he loved his family especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pleasant and Buliah Hurd; sisters, Bethada and Juanita; brothers, Benny Walker, Melvin and Charles; and daughter, Angela Marie Hurd.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Valerie Hurd; son, Tim Hurd (Shelly); daughters, Teresa Mullis (Andy), and Debbie Walters (Rod); grandchildren, Megan Barnes (Nick), Laura Hurd, Angela Hurd, Shelby Shodlouski (Leon), Travis McGowan (Chelsy), James and Jon Walters, and Meaghan Wilson; great-grandchildren, Ben and Jet Bevans, Chansler and Sawyer Shodlouski, Cooper and Myles Barnes, Gracie, Arriahna, and Jaxton; brother, Pleasant Hurd Jr. (Pam); sisters, Jean Hochstedler (Percy), and Julie Hurd; brother-in-law, George Laypoole; and many extended family and friends.
