Daniel Martin Kirby Jul. 24, 1942 - Aug. 31, 2019

Daniel Martin Kirby, 77, Marion, passed away at 10:25 pm on Saturday, August 31, 2019. He was born in Jonesboro on Friday, July 24, 1942, to the late Orvil and Pauline Kirby.

He worked at Foster-Forbes, where he was a fork truck driver. Daniel was a lifelong musician. His real passion was performing and writing music, which he recorded in his home. Some of his greatest memories were playing with Box Car Willie at the Silver Saddle in Texas, as well as playing with Jerry Lee Lewis, Lee Greenwood, and Ricky Skaggs.

He is survived by his two sons, Marty Kirby of Marion and Brad (Rikki Mason) Kirby of Marion; two daughters, Julianne Haynes of Marion and Jamie (Dave) Mason of Elwood; two sisters, Jackie (Robert) Rhodes of Jonesboro and Teresa (Robert) Graham of Phoenix, AZ; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and companion dog, Bridget.

He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Marty Kirby, Jr., and Cameron Nichols; brother, Timothy Kirby; and grandmother, Mable Kirby.

A graveside service for Daniel will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Riverside Cemetery. Pastor Lois Helm will be officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN.
