Virgil L. Heater

Virgil L. Heater, 91, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019 at Community Hospital in Anderson.

He was born in Tipton County to Clifford Virgil and Gladys Isabell (Rush) Heater. Virgil attended Boone Township Elementary and Summitville High School. He was a well-known farmer in Boone Township for most his lifetime. He was a member of St. John s Lutheran Church in Elwood. For more than 50 years he has enjoyed working the cattle barns at the Madison County 4-H Fair. Virgil was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing and attending tractor pulls and was a fan of NASCAR and the Indianapolis Colts.

Survivors include wife, Florence (Davis) Heater, married July 30, 1977; two daughters-Linda (Bill) Fern and Myra (Jim) Rose all of Davenport, Florida; two step-children, Cindy (Brad) Amick-Summitville, Kurt (Mary) Backer-Dunkirk; six Grandchildren; ten Great-Grandchildren; five Great-Great Grandchildren; sister, Wenda (David) Clement of Marion; brother, Eldon (Alice) Heater-Fairmount, several nieces and nephews.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside rites at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria will be announced at a future date.
