Fireworks accident injures man 

A Marion man was injured in a fireworks accident Wednesday evening, according to police. Jared Phillips, 34, was airlifted via medical helicopter after being taken to Marion General Hospital at 9:37 p.m. from 2002 S. Race St.

Shots fired into mobile home

Two men were narrowly missed by multiple shots fired into a mobile home in Kings Mobile Home Trailer Park in Marion early Wednesday morning. Police were called to the trailer park at 1:46 a.m. and found the trailer had been shot multiple times, according to Capt. Stephen Dorsey. One man had a scratch on his thigh he believed was the result of being grazed by a bullet. Police located one spent shell casing in the area.

INDOT has announced plans for ongoing overnight road repairs on I-69 in Grant County from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday. Drivers are cautioned to watch for lane shifts and stopped traffic on the interstate between US 35 and Ind. 18. during those hours. The $288,000 project is expected to be finished in late July, according to INDOT.
