Monica Lynn Potter Dec. 18, 1955 - May 7, 2019


On Tuesday, May 7, 2019, Monica Lynn Potter passed away in her Marion home. She was 63 years old.

Monica was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 18, 1955, to the late Gerald William and Margaret Jane (Terry) Hornback. She graduated from Marion High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in business. She worked at Conduent, where she was a benefit recovery coach. On January 27, 1995, she married her loving husband, Steven Ray Potter. They shared eleven years together before he preceded her in death on November 30, 2006.

Each year, Monica looked forward to participating in the American Cancer Society Walk, as well as the Corporate Challenge Walk through her employer. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed mysteries. She loved going to casinos, perusing the internet, fishing, working in her flower garden, and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Monica attended Sunnycrest Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Jarrod Wade Campbell, Marion; step-son, Stephen Potter, Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Haley Nicole Campbell, Cynthia Michelle Hernandez, Alexander Joseph Davis, Jakk Phelan Campbell, Jace Radley Campbell, Katie MaeLynn Campbell, Jed McGinnis Campbell, Randall Potter, and Schyler Blaine Potter; and brother, Gerald (Ginger) Hornback, Jr..

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

A funeral service to celebrate Monica’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, with Pastor Troy Bishop officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
